There are moments
when she says
she loves me
I peer deep
into her eyes
just wanting
to be sure
that it’s not
someone else
in disguise
Even tho I’ve grown
beyond the man
I used to be
I didn’t think
I’d come to know
love like the way
that she loves me
Looking well
beyond my faults
beside me
proudly stands
more loyal than
she really ought to
imperfect
as I am
And yet together
as we weather
the path
before our feet
no greater friend
this journey has
than the other
half of me
