THIS WALK
by Neo Blaqness
I already know
mine is not
an easy heart
to hold
but I make
no apology
for being me
I used to
try
to see
eye to eye
to walk
by sight
that wasn’t mine
but I
might as well
been blind
running into things
that you
passed by
not that
your view
of life
ain’t
just fine
for you
but for me
I find
I need
a different path
where it’s safe
to breathe
wonder
and ask
beyond the sacred
and holy things
that bind
our minds
and thoughts
to chains
of foolishness
disguised
as faith
dare ask
for wisdom
told to wait
for a word
from god
sponsored by
a smooth talking man
in a fancy car
wearing a cross
worth more
than the check
you got
from your boss
prostituting thoughts
with the 10% percent
you guilt tripped gave
to a pulpit pimp
not knowing
the WORD
was FREE
this walk
is not always
about
right
or wrong
but what you
choose
to believe
